Buffalo DWI Lawyer Discusses the Fines for a First Time Offender
As an experienced Buffalo DWI Lawyer, I am often asked about the fines for a first time DUI offense. Even if this is a first offense, in New York state you will still be charged with a criminal conviction. You could see fines between $500 – $1000 plus possible extra fees. You could also see your license suspended for at least six months. If you are charged with a DWI offense, you will also be required to attend a victim impact panel along with a drinking driver program. Depending on what level your blood alcohol content was, you could even spend a minimum of five days in jail with a maximum of 30.
